YouTube TV and Disney are friends again – and you could get $15
A dark time for YouTube TV customers will soon end up faster than expected. After removal of Disney’s channel from the service last week, Youtube TV has shared the news that the channel will return at the end of the day on Sunday. Last week, Youtube TV shared that it would delete Disney’s channels such as ESPN, Disney Channel, and ABC from the programming guide. The news came as a result of the failure of two companies to meet the New Testament to keep the channel on the service without increasing the subscription price. After removal, youtube TV shares that it will offer a $ 15 discount for all customers while Disney content is not available on this service.
Now, just a short day after the channel starts disappearing, youtube TV adds it back.
“We are happy to share that we have reached an agreement with Disney to restore their content to Youtube TV while preserving $ 64.99 / month. Prices for our members,” wrote the YouTube team in the update over the weekend. “We have begun to restore access to Disney networks such as ESPN and FX, including their live and on-demand content, and any recordings that were previously in your library. We will also turn on the local ABC station during the day.”
With the return of Disney’s channel to service, it means that the promise of YouTube TV to reduce the subscription fee will return. However, YouTube has shared that it will still respect appointments with a $ 15 one-time discount.
“When we promise a $ 15 discount when Disney content is still inactive, we will still respect credit once for all affected members,” the reading of the announcement.
According to Youtube TV, each active member who has not received the discount will see it on the next bill. YouTube also said that it would allow members who had started the cancellation process to restore the basic plan to their membership. And, if you do it before access to the disconnected service, you will also receive $ 15 credits once. Members who currently have subscriptions that are paused will also receive $ 15 credit one month after their service costs begin again.
